Hello! I'm Heather Heater.
ABOUT ME
Professional Life I’m a graphic designer specializing in magazine and print media. I've worked with many companies in a variety of industries, from newspaper, awards publications, travel guides, maps to cattle and agriculture. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Applied Arts in Convergent Media from Missouri Western State University. I have more than 10 years of experience in managing graphic design projects from inception to execution. Highly creative with the ability to work well within a team. Extensive experience in managing other designers, coordinating with them to deliver a single product and working with multiple printers ensure a quality publication is printed. Highly skilled with various programs within the Adobe Creative Suite, such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Personal Life I have been creative for as long as I can remember. My neighborhood friends and I would run wild down sidewalks from the monsters under our porches, smearing the flowers and peace signs we had chalked just minutes before. Themed parties became art galleries to display my papier-mache palm trees and shipwrecked boats. I picked up a camera and joined the school yearbook staff, seizing any opportunity to express my imagination. My sense for creativity is best described by Indian religious leader, Osho, who said, “To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” As my career and perspective as a designer develops, Osho’s words reflect my own belief that being creative means you must love what you do and who you do it for. My professional path recently led me to create for agriculture-based audiences — a community I have loved working with and being able to create and visually share those stories. Let me, help you, share your stories.
